Three Guys

Three Guys is a collaboration of experienced driver programmers: Donald Burn, Joseph Newcomer and Edward Dekker.  We work independently or together on a project basis.

Edward Dekker is co-author with Joseph Newcomer of “Developing Windows NT Device Drivers”, as well as a co-author of the course based on that book.  He has over 30 years of academic and industry experience in device driver and applications development.

Joseph M. Newcomer is co-author with Edward Dekker of “Developing Windows NT Device Drivers”, as well as a co-author of the course based on that book.  He also has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. He has over 40 years experience academic and industry experience in device driver and application development, and is a specialist in application design in Microsoft Windows.  He is a Microsoft MVP in C++/MFC.  He also co-authored the book “Win32 Programming” (with Brent E. Rector). and taught courses in Win32 API programming, MFC programming, and Advanced Microsoft Windows System Programming.  His MVP Tips Web site, www.flounder.com/mvp_tips.htm, has nearly a hundred articles on Microsoft Windows programming, including articles dealing with multithreaded systems, advanced graphics methods, and asynchronous event-driven programming.  His past credentials include 7 years as faculty in the Computer Science department of Carnegie-Mellon University and being a founding scientist of the Software Engineering Institute at CMU.
